I know the scale haas changed on the OAT and it is stated that the questions were not made harder in order to change the scale. What made the scale change then. Is it just that we are not allowed to miss as many questions in order to get a certain score? According to my Kaplan OAT 2007-2008 edition I can miss four biology questions and stil get a 400 on that section. Someone please let me know!

Well, the score (between 200 and 400) you get in any section is not directly based off of what percent of the questions you got right (i.e. 75% of questions correct doesn't have to correspond to a score of 350). So when they adjusted the scoring scale (they made it less lenient) it does mean that you can't get as many wrong as before to get the score you are after. We don't actually know exactly how many questions correct in each section corresponds to each score between 200 and 400 though. The best advice is, try and get as many right as possible.

I just took my test a few days ago and it's definitely a different scoring system for each section. I think in general people do better on bio than on ochem so maybe they're more lenient on the latter.

Just study hard and try your best, because knowing how many you can miss and still get a 400 probably won't help you do better.

Also, if it helps any, from my test last week I felt I overstudied all the sciences and was overconfident on reading and math. I've been seeing that a lot on the forums.
