I didn't feel well on the test day because I couldn't sleep the night before the test. I was very nervous which I know I shouldn't had and I didn't need to actually. I know I would have done better if I have full night sleep. My test score are not as good as I expected. Low RC and Phys scores. 🙁

I would like to get into SCCO.
what do you guys think? any advise on retaking the test?
If I retake it, it would be around Nov 15. I'm planning to apply by the end of september. How is the process of retaking; do I reapply it? get another ID #, pay for the fee, and reselect the schools? all that?
Also, how do I know if the schools are ok with my current OAT score, and I don't need to retake it? How do they know if I am going to retake? Would they put my application aside and wait for my new oat score in November.

Personally, I would retake. Your RC score is VERY low, as you already stated. You might be able to get away with a 290 in one area with the rest being well above 300, but a 260 is a bit rough.

As far as the school knowing you will retake, you simply need to add a planned OAT to the tests section on your application. I don't know SCCO's policies, but I believe most schools wait until your application is complete, including new tests, to process you as an applicant. You should, however, call the school and ask what they think you should do.

SCCO is my #1 choice as well, so i've gotten a lot of info on their admissions process from the last 2 years that i've been eye-ing the school. ^_^

for the OAT, you MUST retake. SCCO will not let you past round 1 of the app process unless your scores are above 300 in each sub section. They are fairly strict on that. the only condition for when they accept below 300 is later on in the admission cycle when it begins to look like they might not net the same 100 seats in the admitting class. at that point they lower the bar to extend more interviews to net the final class of 100. however, that is a very conditional....condition. so i wouldn't rely on that.

As for your application, cde is correct. add in another OAT section and mark it as pending/intend to take. Then complete your application and send it. When SCCO receive the application and they see that your score is pending, they will wait for your score to come in before deciding to extend an interview invite. the OAT program will automatically send your new scores to SCCO.

however you still want to send your app in early due the time it takes optomcas to process it and then scco's time to process. don't let the OAT score be the thing holding you back from hitting submit.

now...if you submit and do badly on OAT #2...well...you can't really go back and try a 3rd time as you can no longer add a 3rd OAT entry once you've already submitted. ( my last theory being unconfirmed. i'm under the impression that after submit, you can't change anything. you can only add new schools and modify the specific school's supp app)
