how does the OAT compare in difficulty to the MCAT?

It doesnt. MCAT is much harder and much more involved. The OAT is still challenging, but is much more straight foward than the MCAT. The OAT tests what you have learned, while the MCAT tests your ability to reason and apply what you have learned.
