My OPTED.org scores were:

Bio: 350
GChem: 320
OChem: 330
RC: 290
QR: 320
Phys: 320

My OAT scores today were:

Bio: 320
GChem: 320
OChem: 280*I have yet to take my second semester and 80% was 2nd Sem.
RC: 310
Physics: 300
QR: 290 (almost every singe one of my QR questions were word problems.)

Beware of the OPTED sample test. Study you're organic and QR. Physics wasn't bad. I have yet to take my second semester in that either and I consider 300 great for missing that second portion. Obviously my scores aren't great, but we'll see what happens. I will be retaking the OAT. Any tips from individuals that have had to take it twice? Study tips, new methods, things you did different, things you did the same?

Thanks.

I'm curious as to why you took the OAT even before finishing the college courses that covered the material. How much did you study for this test?

I studied about three and a half weeks. I wanted to see if I could get into school prior to getting my bachelors degree.

i found that the real questions were very similar to that on the opted test. the opted sample test was the only practice OAT test i used when i was preparing.

So does anybody have any tips on how to improve? I feel as though taking it the second time will be a lot easier because all of the mystery is taken away now that I know what it's like. I am bummed because I thought I could just get it over with, but instead I just prolonged the experience. I would like to hear any suggestions on study tips, habbits, how to improve certain sections such as QR, Organic, physics, any subject really. Thanks.

Take the test after you have taken the courses that the material covers.

This is not always true. Taking the OAT without physics II is fine. Biology can easily be learned, except the section does ask random questions which having a basic biology background would certainly help. The same can be said for chemistry.

The only courses I would suggest is required to take the OAT (if that existed) would be the organics. The orgo section on the OAT is not challenging at all if you have already token both organics.

Other than that, a good month or two months of studying can replace any undergraduate courses when preparing for the OAT (IMO).
