I'm planning on doing a transitional year, but I desperately need a new letter in EM. Trouble is, I've already graduated (FMG). Does anyone know of an EM program that would take an observer/ extern for a month?

I'm not sure where you stand on transitional year, but if you were able to rank transitional year places that have an EM residency you'd be able to do a month of EM at your institution and get a letter with little problem, no. Of course, that assumes that you have the luxury of doing transitional year at a place with a program. GOOD LUCK!
