Just a quick question for people at other programs. Do you have people come through as observers to your program? Basically, these are potential applicants who are not currently in medical school, and have been out of practice for many years. Some are pathologists from other countries, some are docs that are looking to go back to residency to switch specialties. My question is, if your program allows them, what kind of qualifications do they need? I recently found out that pretty much anyone can spend a month at our program, without even signing any kind of confidentiality form. Isn't this a HIPA violation of some kind? I mean, they are exposed to patient information and patient contact while they are. They see autopsies and view patient charts. Just curious what people's thoughts are about this.
