Hi all,

Is it possible to apply for a DEA number and Medicare using a virtual business address- for instance a Regus business address? I'm planning on starting my own practice out of residency and won't have a business address for sometime but would like to get the process of obtaining these two numbers started. I already have a pod state medical license.

I'm almost positive you need a physical address that is 'real'. However, you CAN use your home address and designate it as a home office/base of operations for a mobile practice. Then, you can change it to your future practice address once you figure that out.

You need a physical address.
They verify it is a physical address in the system before the application can even be submitted.
If you have suite numbers, need to make sure they are active or not currently being used by another business.

Was a nightmare to get through for Medicare/Medicaid.

Correct me if I'm wrong, already forgot the steps in order, but don't you need a state license prior to getting your DEA license?
