A few questions about fellowships


- What is the difference between 1 or 2 year retina fellowships for someone who plans on going into non-academia/private practice?

- What are the pros/cons for doing a retina fellowship at a private practice institution rather than at a university hiospital?

- To obtain a residency position one needs good grades, good USMLE scores, intrest in Ophtho and good letter of recs. What does one need to obtain a retina fellowship? are papers expected and how much research is expected (a few clinical projects/case reports or something much more involved). What can one do to make himself a competative candidate coming from a middle to lower tier Ophtho program.

1. Who ya know
2. Who ya know
3. Who ya know
4. All that other stuff
