I was planning on taking my second semester of OCHEM in my senior year, but most schools want 2 semesters in their application,
like USC http://dentistry.usc.edu/doctoral.aspx?id=902&linkidentifier=id&itemid=902&menu_id=258

so my question is do I HAVE to take it before I apply, or is it before matriculation?

It's before matriculation. So, if DS begins in July, you better have ALL your prereqs completed before July matriculation.

You need OCHEM2 for the DAT...My advice to you is to take it as soon as possible (right after OCHEM1).

so pretty much all the requirements are before matriculation? and I hate to hijack my own thread but is it not a good idea to send more letters of rec than they ask for ?
