bad idea?

I figure I could take ochem over the summer, then the second part in fall 09/ spring 10 and take the DAT next summer....I still need 1 yr bio, phys, and half yr of biochem

I clearly am a tool for not working out a plan but I don't know what UC I'm going to transfer to (Cal is on semester and LA/D is on quarter).

I took Ochem 1 in six weeks and got an A. By the end of it I thought I was going to have a heart attack. It was pretty intense, mostly because of the reputation that the class has. I would suggest getting ahead in Bio or Physics over the summer and save Ochem for the fall. Maybe do Bio I and Phy I instead of just Ochem.

I also took orgo 2, physics I and II over last summer and got 3 As. Take that nurse 😀

Anyway, this was not a problem since it never came up on any interview I had. It was really @$$ busting hard to cramp a whole course into 6 weeks though. But if you think you can handle it, I say go for it.

I did both sections of ochem over the summer. I am very glad I did it this way, but it was 10 weeks of misery. I did well in each class, but unless you're focused and work hard daily, it is very easy to get behind. If you have the discipline for it, i def. recommend going this route! Cheers!!

haha quite the load you had. I took some humanities, philosophy, and english classes with Org I. piece of cake. 🙂 jk

I think it helps save time taking a classes in the summer. I took Chem 1 and 2 one summer and a bio an philosophy elective the next summer. It really help but if you take hard core science classes during the summer be prepared to study very hard a lot of the time and have to stay up late often studying since you have lecture and lab to worry about for those classes.
If you can handle summer sciences there great! Its kinda cool to have the class more often because you can follow the continuity instead of having many days off in between classes like in a regular semester.
