A Rapid formation of chloroforms via chlorination of base treated ketones signifies the presence of
A. butyl ketones. B. propyl ketones. C. isopropyl ketones. D. ethyl ketones.

what is this?
E. methyl ketones.

This is the haloform reaction. It takes the methyl off a methyl ketone and replaces it with an O to form a carboxy acid plus a chloroform (CHCl3).
