I haven't had Ochem or any chem in many years(I'm 30 and in grad school at UofL,3.7gpa) and not sure how to properly study for Ochem. I have old notes from previous DAT attempts(17 Ochem), but I need to better understand material rather than try to memorize rxns. Taking the DAT in early September, any suggestions?

I would suggest taking a textbook and reading slowly and carefully 2 chapters a day so that you will finish in 13 days. Once that is done go to the destroyer and do that for a week making sure that you understand every question and every solution in the Orgo. After this is done you should be pretty good at Orgo. Then get ready for the rest of the sections using cliffs etc... and then go over the Destroyer like another 2-3 times cover to cover. After all this (which should take like a month to a month and a half) you should be more or less prepared for the science section of the DAT some practice tests and a little more review and youre good to go.

Great advise! I have tried to view the videos on the coursesaver site, having some trouble though, hopefully I will figure it out on my PC instead of my Mac!

If you have someone you may know who took Organic Chem and has good notes take there notes and buy a Textbook and i would highly recommend reviewing through those.

Along with that i would highly recommend DAT Destroyer for Organic Chemistry. It'll help you understand some of the basics but you will need to know the basics though, and basics really can only be obtained from a textbook.

I had a friend who never took Organic Chem and did pretty well on the MCATs. He basically bought a Text Book and used the internet as his source to learn OChem and then he would buy books like the Destroyer and do questions.

for Macs, you have to right click or hold ctrl and click and choose to save link somewhere on your comp. once it finishes dwnloading, it should play.
