OCP and depression?

What do you know about OCP's and depression? Have any of you seen a female patient thrown into deep depression due to OCP or another type of hormonal therapy like GnRH agonist? Does the GnRH agonist psych effects affect men as well (when they use it for prostate CA)?

I have seen emotional changes based on OCPs but I have not seen any in clinical practice cause depression.

This has been my own experience. Several women after on OCPs claim their mood is more stable.

I however admit that I'm not very well educated on the use of OCPs in mood.

You might want to ask a psychatrists who specializes in reproductive psychiatry. However there are very few who do.
