Ahh! I'm excited/nervous. I've had a couple of interviews so far...Wouldn't it be great to get a couple acceptances right off the bat?
 
It is going to be a long 33 days for me.

Indeed. I'm in love with one of my schools... and would LOVE to get in there. The ADCOM meets today, but due to AAMC regs, we can't get an answer til the 16th. 🙁 Praying the 33 days passes quickly, another interview on the 22nd...

Good luck guys! I thought a sounding / counting down board might be fun 🙂

I'm not banking on an answer from anywhere else on Oct 16, but my state school is almost definite, since they are making decisions today and wednesday of next week. That is almost MORE nervewracking I think... that my decision could already be made and may be sitting on someone's desk, growing dust for a month...
 
There's one school I know of that will tell you informally prior to Oct. 15th. And no, it's not an EDP either.

Do you know how schools tell you informally? Are we talking about a phone call or a change in your status page?

It's been said around the forums that EVMS will allow you to call them after a decision has been made and they will tell you over the phone before October 15th.

I'm not counting on an acceptance on October 15th, but with 6 interviews currently scheduled before the end of October I'm hoping that I receive an acceptance by the end of the year. That way I can pick and choose if I get any interviews later in the cycle.

Although I'd be more than happy to take an acceptance anytime they're willing to give me one! :laugh:
 
I hope to "match" to an interview by then.
 
Aaaaaahhhhh I'm going to find out from Vandy on 10/15. I would find out from UCSD and NYMC then too but since NYMC interview is like a week before and UCSD is two days before...I'm guessing I won't be hearing anything from them for awhile.

Freakin A, though, I'm in California so mail from ANYWHERE takes for freakin ever. Do they call usually or email before they send snail mail? For both good news and bad? Cause if it's only snail mail I might not find out until the week after 10/15. AAAHHHHH

has anyone ever thought about calling your fellow friends/applicants on october 15th and saying something like... "congratulations mr. x, youve been accepted into the class of 2013 for x medical school."

mean prank i'd say but pretty funny 😀

Here i sit, drinking my afternoon coffee out of the travel mug from aforementioned school that I should have news from in Oct. I figure I'll use it for the next month, if they reject me, I may have to reject them :laugh:. On the other hand, its a really nice mug...

And a really nice school.... Ah, agonizing!

Haha yeah this wait is torturous. I really really wanted to buy some swag at the bookstore of the med school where I just had an interview, but I figured it would make me even crazier. The second I figure out where I'm going, though, I am going to buy every t-shirt, sweatshirt, mug, and poster I can. I'm going to feel so cool wearing a "***** school of medicine" shirt....

I know!!! I really want to know about Vandy as well! The invite for the interview took almost a week to get to my house from the day it was sent. Man... This is going to be a rough wait...

Hahaha I know!! Why does mail take so long?! I'm currently freaking out because Columbia is one of my top choices and they're sending interview invites by snail mail...and Vandy is also one my top choices, so come Oct. 15th, I'll be stalking the mailbox. At least we have each other....

LET...i think we're the same person. I've been waiting for the mailman everyday for the past week just for columbia. I hope that school knows how much I'd love an interview.

The other unfortunate thing is that everything is being sent to my parent's address and not to my address at school since I just moved. My parents tend to forget when I get mail and don't tell me until a week later. I guess I'll be calling home every night for a week or so... Good luck to us both! :luck:

I did buy 🙁 hahaha. Just pj's and a tshirt. Plus it's the school I REALLY think I'll end up at.

Wow, that would NOT fly for me. Knowing my mother, she'd "forget" to tell me and then like put the letter on the wall of her office or something. She did that with my sister's acceptance to college, and then was like "oh yeah, you got into MIT. Doesn't the acceptance letter look nice on the wall of my office?!".
She calls ME every single day, so....sigh.
We're going to be ok. We are. It's going to be ok.

I really hope to find out from my state school if Im accepted within a week of October 15th but I wont get my hopes up.
 
Hey LET and berken! When you guys get your Columbia invites, try and set up your interviews for Oct 3rd! That way we can totally dominate that school together.
Also....to be on topic....I'll be shaking in my shoes for Pitt, Vandy, and possibly Dartmouth on Oct 15th! :scared:

It's true. You guys are really having a lot of success. I should just be happy with what I've got, but instead I just get angry everyday at stupid Yale who won't complete my file even though they received everything a month ago. 😡
