To the oculoplastics folks out there (or anyone else who might know):

What percentage of your practice is oncology-related? I'm asking because I really am interested in the tumor-related pathology and surgeries of oculo-plastics, and I'm wondering how common that is in the general field.

Thanks.

Most oculoplastics is not oncology. Even in a center with a lot of dermatologic surgery, which is where most oncology consultations involving oculoplastics come from, it may only be 15-20%, and that is being generous. The majority of oculoplastics is senescent malpositions--ectropion, entropion, ptosis, lacrimal surgery, cosmetic and the like. The cancer volume is lower, typically, in line with volumes of endocrine disease, traumatic disease, pseudotumor and congenital problems.
