So I'm applying to WVU, and they require LOR's from each of the sciences (bio, chem, and physics). Biology and chem weren't a problem. Physics on the other hand is. I just started my first physics course last week so when I submitted my AADSAS app back in mid summer, I couldn't supply a LOR from physics.

I have a degree in dental hygiene already, so I talked to the cordinator of that program (D.D.S. of 25+ years & WVU grad), and she agreed to write one for me in place of physics.

I just received my secondary app in the mail, and I'm considereing typing a letter to send back with it explaining my situation regarding the LOR's.

Do you guys think this is nessesary or just a waste of time?😕

they sent you one even without the third science letter so my guess is that it is alright. if they havent mentioned it then it should be fine. most schools arent that strict about who the letters come from but apparently wvu is.

i applied to wvu also and i only had 2 bio professors and a dentist write mine. i emailed admissions about it and they told me straight up that those were not good enough. so im not surprised i havent received a supplemental.

Yea the letter then sent along w/ the secondary stated who they wanted the letters from. They have the same information on their web site. I kinda find it odd that you didn't receive the secondary yet. The only one of my LOR's that have actually been turned in were from my organic professor. My bio and dental hygiene haven't even submitted ones yet.

Maybe me being from WV helped me out cause my stats aren't that great.

GPA - 3.36
Science GPA - 3.30
DAT Overall 17
Dat Bio - 17
Dat Gen Chem - 15
Dat Org Chem - 15
Overall Science - 16
QR - 16
Reading Comp - 20
Percep - 22

I've not won that many awards or honors, and I don't have that much extra curricular stuff under my belt. I do have two previous associates degrees tho. One being that dental hygiene one, which I'm sure doesn't hurt my chances.
