#of spots?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
The National Resident Matching Program website has data tables on previous years of the match as well.

http://www.nrmp.org/res_match/data_tables.html

After the match is over each year they have a list of positions/programs that did not fill, but you have to be in the match to get that list. It is too bad they don't have that available for the everyone to see.

It will be interesting to see if the numbers continue to jump for path. Last year path had a 34% increase in the number of US grads matching. That is a pretty big jump in one year. I doubt it will be that large a percentage this year.

Thanks a lot, that's what I was looking for.

Hey Great Pumpkin, thanks for posting that link.

Does anyone know what "#of ranks/position" means?

Also I hate seeing how unpopular path is over the last 7 years. That is ridiculous that in 1997 only 150 US seniors went into path. That is embarassing almost. Anest and rads used to be just like path and now people are clamoring for those residencies. Hopefully the same thing will happen in path.

Best thing to do is ask the program director how many spots they are matching. Sometimes, programs will go outside the match a fill some spots. The NRMP numbers a probably right but it never hurts to ask directly.
