i called several schools and all of them said that they do not need a extra one from ADA, as long as the AADSAS can download from ADA and forward to them, they will be all set!

Is this too good to be true? my friends said that last year they spend 25 dollars to order a official one to each of the school!

This pisses me off b/c I could have saved lots of money! 😡

I don't know about other schools but Boston Univ requires an official DAT sent once you are invited for an interview (I contacted the school directly).

The majority of schools definitely require an official copy sent to them before any decision is made. If the schools that you contacted told you otherwise, then works out great for you as you'll be saving tons of money. If I were you though, I would reconfirm just to make sure they understood your question.

Please let us know which schools gave you this information so that we can confirm as well. I've already spent nearly $400 just to have an official score report sent to all my schools, so if this is the case... I think many people will be pretty upset.

If we already sent them one, will we need to send another then?

Nope, unless you are retaking

Some schools (at least Boston Univ) don't hold on to your old DAT scores. I sent one in Nov 2009, asked the school whether they have kept the scores, and the representative told me the school doesn't keep old DAT scores. It's all very complicated imo.

I assumed he meant that he sent them official DAT scores for this application cycle. You are correct though, some schools out there don't hold onto your score report from a previous cycle... but some do... so if you are reapplying and haven't retaken the DAT, then I would recommend contacting the schools to which you are reapplying to verify

yea, I was referring to this cycle.

This is confusing,

I paid around $450 for 15 schools, and I emailed AADSAS, this is what they said

" I am AADSAS representative and I am happy to assist you. Yes if you have taken the DAT’s after February 13,2010 then you will need to arrange for your scores to go directly to your designated schools"

So we actually do need to send the scores directly to the schools. I'm just gonna play it safe, wish i didn't have to spend that much money.

Please list the name of schools that you called because we have a thread with schools that require DAT to be sent to them directly and the schools that don't require them.
Thanks.

Ahh sorry I'm still confused... when I retook the DAT last week, I selected the 10 schools I wanted them sent my scores to (paid $325). So does that mean I am all set, or do I still have to "arrange" for them to be sent to the schools?

I would think paying them and selecting the schools you wanted qualifies as making arrangements for scores to be sent.
