One of the questions in the official mcat guide (#2, passage 2 of BIO) asks for the cellular location of a plasma membrane protein after its release from the ribosome. I know the general path for secretion is rough ER-->golgi-->plasma membrane..BUT if the GBA is in the plasma membrane of red blood cells, then don't red blood cells lack organelles. So how do red blood cells have plasma membrane proteins?
