Okay guys, I know that some of you who have already gotten in are livid with all of us No-acceptees (mainly me) venting about our abominable experiences with dental schools this year but trust me when I say that it can be miserable for some of us and that we need all the reprieve we can get from the no-acceptance-induced metastasis driving us crazy and more susceptible to cancers, cardiac arrhythmias and other stress related maladies. Now for the thread...

A)IF YOU KNOW, give the number of acceptances that X school sent out in the first round. Even if we only get a few schools info on here I think it would be helpful.

B)IF YOU KNOW, give the official date (best) or unofficial expected time (next to best) that X school has designated to be the period in which they anticipate sending out 2nd round acceptances. Even if we only get a few schools info on here I think it would be helpful.

What does "acceptance deadline" mean? (In regards to the above responses for Houston and San Antonio) Is that when the very last acceptance letter will be sent out for class of 2012? It seems as if January is just so early though....

The acceptance deadline is the date designated for people who have already received an acceptance letter to officially declare that they will be attending the respective dental school. This usually is done by submitting x amount of dollars to the school a confidence-based collateral of sorts. After this date the school will assume that you are not going to attend their school and will send letters of acceptance to other predents (like me...hopefully 🙄) to fill the now vacant seat. Acceptance deadline policies vary from school to school but I think this is the general idea.

I have a question. If we were to get accepted in the upcoming adcoms meetings, will we hear ON Jan 15th, like how most schools tell their first picks right on december 1st? Or will they just tell us when they feel like it?

Good question. I keep hearing that schools "send out acceptances on the 15th of January" meaning you may not get word of the acceptance until a few days later...but then again I don't know. I've never been accepted. My guess is that most schools will just go over applications again when they've planned the meeting and mail out acceptances ad libitum. I can't imagine the January 15th "2nd round acceptances" date as being as concrete as the Nov. 30th/Dec. 1st date. As for the thread...

Please help out guys! 😱. I tried to make this as trivial to fill out as possible. I'm just sure that some of you know something and I would just ask that you please take a couple of seconds to fill it out. Thanks
