Hi all,

I've been lurking here for about a month and finally decided to register.

I have a problem concerning transcripts for Kansas State. From what I understand on their website, they want me to send my entire application, including sealed transcripts in one envelope. My problem is that some of the schools I have attended have a policy stating that they do not send official transcripts to students. I am only allowed to receive unofficial transcripts and they only send official transcripts directly to the college.

Has anyone else had to deal with this issue? I have emailed admissions at Kansas State about my situation but I would love your input, since you guys give some great advice. Thanks!

I was able to get my school to give me sealed envelopes with transcripts inside, then I just sent them along with everything else.

I just had my school directly mail the official transcripts to Kansas State, instead of giving them to me. I then called in and made sure that Kansas State had received them. I had absolutely no problems doing it this way.

I hope so because i live 2 hours away from one of my cc's and i dont feel like driving 4 hrs just to get a stupid transcript when they can mail it out themselves...

Kansas will accept them if you mail them to them. Just e-mail/call and explain the situation.

Last year I had to turn in my transcripts a week late due to a jackass named Ike (the colleges were shut down) but they still accepted them. They're pretty accommodating.

Thanks everyone! I was worried that KSU would be a lot more strict about this.

I emailed KSU and this is what they said...

For us to evaluate your application most efficiently in a timely manner you must include the following in your supplemental application packet:

1. completed 2 page pdf supplemental application form
2. transcripts of all of your college work You should request transcripts from your college(s) in sealed envelopes. These should then be placed in the supplemental application packet unopened.)
3. photocopy of your GRE report(s) sent to you from ETS (Do not send us your original official copy.)
4. supplemental application fee

If you chose to have your college(s) send transcripts and ETS send us your GRE scores, we cannot be responsible for missing information, should we not get these documents in a timely manner. However, we will give you full consideration if we receive all of the required information piecemeal in a timely manner from whomever sends it.

So hopefully they'll receive my gre scores and transcript...
I hope this helps 🙂

Okay, so from the internet description it sounds like they are pretty strict, but I had my school send mine to Kansas last year and I never had any problem with it.

With any school you apply to I would call to verify that they got your transcripts, especially when being sent by your school. There's always a chance that it could get lost and you want to have time to fix it before they are making decisions about you. So I guess my advice would be to not put this off until the last minute. Usually you can send transcripts even if the school does not have your VMCAS application and they're pretty good at figuring it out.
