Overall I did pretty good, except for getting kicked in the balls by math

PAT - 20
Bio - 24
Chem - 20
Ochem - 26
Reading - 19
Math - 14🙁
TS - 22
AA - 21

Studied for around a month and a half

PAT - CDP all the way. I had the 10 test version and i saw considerable improvement in my score because of it. Keyholes and TFE seemed a little harder. Hole punching was way easier on the real DAT

Bio - I am a bio major, but i still studied pretty hard for biology. I used my textbook(Brooker Biology), Schaums, Destroyer, and perused through a couple chapters of Cliffs AP biolgy. I found out last week that my school offers a huge number of cliffs and schaums books via Ebook. i wish I had known that earler because Cliffs seemed really good. Check it out at your schools library.

Two days before the test, I went through my entire biolgy text. It took me about 5 hours, and that was going quickly. I only reccomend doing that if you have got a good handle on everything and want to make sure all your bases are covered. I feel like it helped. I was worried about physiology but i only had one question on it. i had a lot of questions concerning genetics and i just took genetics last semester, so that made me happy. Couple taxonomy questions. Two easy diagrams. Didnt seem like any of my questions were off the wall and it seemed like I had seen everything before.

Chem - Studied my textbook, Chads videos, and destroyer. I also went through the ACS study guide, but not as hard as I needed. I should have gone though that one better.

Ochem - I actually didnt really study for this section. I just finished the second part last semester and it was pretty fresh. I just studied my personal notes from class, and referenced the text occasionally(Carey version 7). I would strongly reccomend watching Chads videos on carbohydrates and lab techniques. I looked through the destoryer but i knew most of it so just went through it once. I thought there were gonna be some harder mechs like hoffman, diekman, michaels, etc but none of it seemed that hard. I have a great chart on SN1/SN2/E1/E2 that saved me a bunch of points.

Reading - I didnt study at all for this and it shows in my score. I Did a combination of seach and destroy along with some whiteboarding summary of paragraphs. I would reccomend taking several practice tests and using the various methods mentioned on the forums which you find works best for you. I wish i had taken some practice tests for this.

Math - I didnt neglect math i just suck at it. I have never taken a trig class before, even in high school. That hurt me bad. I was a different student in high school and i wish i had applied myself especially in math. There seemed to be a lot of trig. Lots of story problems and some weird algebra. There is a great youtube channel called Khans academy for math, if you stuggle with geometry or word problems or any topic in math. I just found out about it too late. Used destroyer and CDM and word problems for the utterly confused(again, this was an Ebook accesed through my schools library. Seriously check out what your library has to offer, i was surprised at how much my library had) Guess i get my money back on CDP! Oh well.

Total GPA is 3.75
Science GPA is 3.9
average extracurriculars

My first year and a half i had a 2.9 so I have worked hard to get it up and I think that will be noticed.

I was not planing on applying this cycle, however i have recently been debating on sending in my application. My application is nearly complete. Do you think i could score any interviews this late? Will my math score hurt my chances of ever getting in? I sure dont want to take it again just for math.

To save some money access these books(schaums, cliffs, etc) through Ebook on your schools database. Go ask a librarian they will hook you up. I spoke to a librarian and they said the just ordered cliffs DAT prep. If your librarian knows you want something they will likely get it, so seriously just ask for it. If you go talk to librarian and show interest they will love you and want to hook you up.
