this is my 2nd time taking the dat... and i'm a reapplicant so i had to do better than the first.... some advice would be greatly appreciated regarding the stupid math section and what to do...

maybe i should send them my sat scores... i got a 740 on the math section (690 verbal) has anyone ever done this? i'm a really strong math student... but i guess i'm just a slow good math student.... stupid timer.... 🙂

my gpa is 3.31 and science is 3.19...my apps are done..... and i'm goin to be doin my ms at umdnj this fall..... just some things i forgot to mention

Those scores are amazing. wouldn't worry to much about QR, its not that low.

Do well in your post bacc, to help boost your GPA... though I think you have a good chance this cycle, IMHO.

I'm curious as to how you prepared for QR the second time?

excellent scores, you did really well the first time around so I'm sure you were very nervous about how you would do the second time around. Awesome Gchem score btw! I'm a reapplicant as well and my score when i applied last year was 20/21/19 and I was too nervous about retaking the DAT because I was scared they would go down, i actually asked schools if they would suggest i retake the DAT and they told me not to bother because it was good enough for them so I was just wondering if you were told to retake it? Best of luck applying, hopefully it works out for all of us reapplicants.

i wasn't told to re-take... actually, i was "officially" told not to re-take with all the admissions counselors and deans.... but when i called the offices, because i'm just a really friendly person, i'd usually end up talking with the secretary or whoever picked up the phone... and i'd just tell them about my stats and my fears of not getting in.... and most of them would tell me that, from what they've seen (and they see it all), it would be a good idea for me to re-take. the counselors wont suggest it if you're above their minimum. but being about a minimum isn't competitive enough, and we all know that. i just hope this time it works out.... i hope that helps.

For someone who only acheived a 3.19 GPA in science in college, you rocked on the DAT. Congratulations on your DAT results. Even though the QR is a little low, you need to be proud of your DAT results. Good luck.

BTW, I know you were beig sarcastic whenyou said it, but just in case your weren't - don't send in the SAT scores. Or maybe you should, because they would probably laugh thir butts off that you would consider that. 🙂 Seriously, I wouldn't send them in unless requsted (which will probably not occur).

i actually wasn't being sarcastic... but thanks for the advice, i guess that means it was a bad idea.... i just thought it might be a way for them to see that i am capable of doing math.... i mean the nature of the questions are similar from what i remember.... well, whatever... i won't send them.

btw..... got a rejection from boston university today...... didn't even finish my application with them. my stupid app printout was mailed august 6th, and the letter is postmarked august 6th. what is happening??? i didn't even have my new DAT scores then.... and my LORs were sent out yesterday. geez.... i guess i get no love from boston at all.

your DAT scores are obviously above average (even your first DAT score is solid) and your 1430 on the SAT is great (even thought it doesn't come into play for dental school)... i don't see how you weren't admitted last cycle.. well good luck with everything and i pretty sure you will get in this cycle
