Here's the thing. I was sure podiatry was the thing for me, then something inside me said no, im not even sure why! I know i want to be a doctor, whether that is a doc of orthopaedics or primary medicine or what, i cant make up my mind. I have decent enough grades and believe in the DO philosophy (or at least what my perception of DO philosophy is). Is there anyone out there witha likewise problem, and do you have a solution...I've shadowed podiatrists and talked with some docs/nurses who told me DO is the the way to go. I know that at some point in my life, much sooner than age 40, I'd like to have a family (a close family, not a always working mom or dad family)...is that possible while going through residency trainings? ANy conversation on really anything will be a big help... THanks very much!

added on question,,, my undergrad gives out A+, A, and A-...that being said, in orgo II i earned (sadly) a C-...must i retake this course? I sure hope not!

Unfortunately most DO schools do not accept anything lower than a 'C' in pre-req courses ... so you probably should.

retaking that C- is not a bad idea, if you get a higher grade, your GPA will be calculated based on the higher grade alone

hey JaggerPlate, that 'C' in the pre-req rule, is that only for the sciences? or other pre-req as well (like english).... I think I screwed up my english writting II (C-), Gawd that was like back in 2001

Yes, a C- is not typically considered 'pass' and will not typically be allowed for use toward degree completion or as a passing grade as a prerequisite in a course series. Most, if not all, medical schools will not accept a C- in a prerequisite course.
