How do you like the gym at OSU? With so many students does it get too crowded to use? How close is it to the vet school? Do you have to drive to get to it or can you walk?

There are actually several of them, one of which is new (just opened last year and is HUGE!) The new, awesome one is within easy walking distance - I don't go there often, but when I have been there it wasn't too crowded. There is another, smaller one that is a little farther away but still within walking distance (10 minutes?) You can also drive there, and it's usually not crowded at all. You can find information about all of them at the OSU Rec Sports page: http://recsports.osu.edu/Default.asp Click on facilities/hours at the top of the page.

That sounds GREAT! Going to the gym is how I stay sane in times of stress... I hope I have time to go at least a few times a week.

On the subject of health - are there a lot of food options by the vet school (again, within walking distance)?

Food options are a little more limited, I'm afraid. I'm sure there are places I don't know about, since I usually bring lunch (there are a couple of places on campus with microwaves, etc to heat things up). The closest place is the little food/coffee booth right in the VMAB. They have coffee, bagels and stuff in the mornings, and sandwiches for lunch which are not bad and reasonably priced. They are going to be redoing the cafeteria in the vet hospital (right now it's just a place to heat up your food and sit) but I'm not sure what the schedule is on that project. There is also a food place in on Ag campus (it "sounds" far away but it's not). Off campus, it's about a 15 minute walk to High Street, which is where pretty much all the campus food places, bookstores, etc are. There are a few places on the streets closer to the vet school, but there isn't very much. We generally get an hour for lunch, so a lot of people find bringing food to be the best option.
