Hey all,

So...I just had a meeting with Liz Yost. She is one of the admissions advisors. She told me that there are only 3 interview dates for Ohio State this year. Here are the dates she told me.

October 3 - This is just for non-residents. You should hear from ohio state around September 1 - 5.

October 17 - This is roughly 50% non-residents and 50% residents. You should hear from Ohio State around September 15 - 20.

November 7 - This is just for ohio residents. You should hear from Ohio State anywhere up until October 25.

She said there are dates for this year's interview are really early. She also said these are the only 3 dates they have. If you don't hear anything in the beginning of November, you aren't getting an interview (This is what she told me). I asked her about people who apply after October and she said that all the seats will be filled and these are the only three dates available.

For those of you thinking she was trying to get me to apply early you should know that the first thing i told her was that my application mailing date from AADSAS was posted on June 29th in the first batch and she said that was great.

Great info, thanks a lot! Could you tell me a bit more about tOSU? I am applying there because I've heard good things about it, but I'd definitely like to hear more positives and negatives from your visit. Thanks!

I'm not surprised since their secondary was due 14 days from you receiving it.

Nice post. I found those dates on their website too. great info on when we would hear from them. Thanks

Does Ohio state university only required to fax the DAT score Report I recieved at the testing center? or they also required official DAT score sent directly from ADA?

DrKumar, thanks for sharing that information with all of us. I sent my application to OSU in one of the earliest mailing dates, as well. Hopefully, we'll see some of each other on one of those dates! It's about time we have a thread on the best dental school out there 😉.

If this is the case, why does predents.com show OSU as having invited residents to their first batch of interviews?

Thanks for the info! Although I'm feeling a little worried now because I'm out-of-state and I haven't heard anything yet...my committee packet was mailed JUST a few days ago and that was the last part OSU needed....im hoping this week to be the week I hear something:xf:

I was wondering the same thing about predents.com. I called the school and Mike told me that they are still receiving applications. They don't have the numbers added up so he couldn't tell me anything about my position but I think maybe the dates for contacting interviewees may have been pushed back a little. I don't think it worked out exactly as planned. I could be wrong but that is what it sounded like.

I really hope it's off because if it isn't then I'm a bit scared

Hmm it doesn't look like the Oct 3 date is just for out of staters. If you look at predents.com there are several Ohio residents interviewing that day. I called OSU on Wednesday and they did say that while some spots have been given out, they should be giving out some more soon.

I am afraid to call OSU because they repeatedly say not to contact them! (Website and application complete email)

Any news lately on Ohio State? The last day to submit your application to Ohio State was September 15 so that means that they should not be accepting any more applications. If that is right, than predents.com can't be accurate. Does anybody know how their interview cycles are going? Are they totally full and we, without interviews, should just stop worrying about The Ohio State? Hope not.

Pretty sure you can't apply after October, they have the earliest deadline and it was september something i think.

im an in state student and i got invited to the oct. 3rd event.

like everyone else here i thought the first event was outta state only, the second event -mixed, and the last in state only... i called the office of admissions to make sure there wasnt a typo and the guy told me that all 3 events are mixed this year and that they have only sent out invites for oct 3rd.

i got my invitation on 9/16 (which is when i called admissions) .. so not to worry if u havent heard from them yet.. i guess they are only giving about 2.5 weeks notice

OSU interview Nov 7th! I was about to give up!!! Anyone know anything about their acceptance rate post-interview?

Does anyone know the ratio between in state interviewees vs. in state enrollees?

OSU interviews about 180 in state students for about 100 seats. There's more statistics on their website- dent.osu.edu

180 is in-state + out-of-state interviewees

100 is also IS + OOS enrollees
