Hi guys -

My husband and I are couples' matching. He is applying to anesthesiology. I have already interviewed at OSU and loved it. My PD offered to contact the PD of anesthesiology. However, my husband hasn't gotten an offer yet. He has emailed the program coordinator twice and received no reply.

My questions are as follows: 1) Everyone else who has heard from OSU, did they email you to let you know that you did not make their cut or did they just leave you hanging? 2) Has anyone been waitlisted at OSU? 3) Any suggestions on what else he can do to get an interview spot? Or at least a reply?

All help is appreciated!

I got an email from the program about an interview so I'm assuming they would have sent out an email to let those who didn't receive an interview know (but, I'm not completely sure). I would keep emailing and try calling the residency coordinator - sometimes these people are so busy they can't answer every email.

As you have seen, IM A BIG OSU fan, and current resident. This year is amazing. I've talked to the people in "charge" of applications, etc. They have told me they are working double time to answer questions and try to respond to applicants........BUT, when you receive 50 to 100 questions per day, it's hard for them to respond to everyone. We are working double overtime to respond to everyone. We have a great program and offer so much to applicants it's hard to reply to everyone. You can emal me with questions if you need any questions. Like I said before, It's hard to find a hard working program with so much volume to offer more than six weks off per year. We have had over a dozen of students in the past few months rotate here with hopes to rank us #1.

I applied and never heard anything from them. No email, no nothing. Can you say... "unprofessional?"

He got his interview offer today!

Thanks for everyone who gave their advice. My advice after today would be to just be persistent. (And patient! LOL).
