I'm interested in exotics but so far I have only one interview at Ohio State. I realize that exotics are not their strong suit - why should I tell them I'm interested in Ohio State specifically when they ask? I applied to a lot of schools...

I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to break any rules, I'm new - is it because it was a similar post or generally, either you're supposed to post on the pre-vet or vet board? If the latter, I'm a little confused because I've seen people posting on both.

It is because you posted the same topic in both forums. You are allowed to post in both forums, you just cannot double post the same topic. Don't worry, people generally read both forums so some current vet students will be sure to answer your question.

to answer the question... my vote is tell them that you're interested in exotics. they're most likely also interested in you for a little variety. just don't tell them what you think they want to hear. if you're not interested in their school because they don't have a huge special species department, then give the spot to someone else.

as a side note... it's still only december, there are plenty of schools that offer interviews well after the holidays.

Well ... why are you interested?

In interviews -- as crazy as it sounds -- it's generally best to go with the truth.
