I was hoping that some of you could tell me about OSU life. How safe is the area around campus, the city, the suburbs? Is the patient population big enough to fill all your requirements? Have you been happy with your time there and happy with the program? Any information you can give me will be helpful. I am trying to make a final decision on where I will go to school. Thank you for your time.

I'm a third year at OSU. For the most part, I'm very happy with my decision to come here. I swear there could not be a clinic in the country run more ineffecientlly than ours...but I think many students and most schools feel this way. I know it's a complicated issue, but at times I really question the intelligence of some of the people around here. You have to love state employees. 👍
I wish the class size was a little smaller, but that being said, I love our class. The people make the school. I think there are enough patients, but I wish there were more who have the money to do the work. You will be very strong in some areas and not so strong in others. For example, if you're willing and ready, you can take out any tooth that comes through the emergency clinic, with very few exceptions. Just today, my classmate did a full surgical extraction, complete with a flap, tooth sectioning, and bone removal. The residents will help you along, but they let you do everything. But other areas, like endo, you will not get the same amount of exposure.
I love Columbus. It's a wonderful city to live in. There are so many good areas, along with some bad ones. Some areas around campus can be pretty bad, but there are plenty of nice places to live, both close to campus and further away.
...And did I mention the football? 😉
In short, there have been days that I have hated every single thing about Ohio State, but by and large, I've been happy with my decision to come here.

Hey guys,

I really want to go to OSU dental school but I am not doing well at all in my organic chemistry class right now (241). I'm really worried I'm going to end up getting a C- which is scary to me considering I only have A's and B's so far in all of my classes. I honestly do work really hard in it and don't understand why I'm not doing well especially because I feel like I understand the material. But when I go to take the exams, I freak out and don't do well on them because I take a long time to do the problems and can't seem to get any faster at doing them.

Anyways, I was wondering what would happen if I got a C- because the OSU website says that for the pre-req classes, you should be getting a "C" grade or better. Does that mean that if you get a C- you have to take the class again? Has anyone been admitted to OSU with this low of a grade in a pre-req science class?

OSU is an amazing school that produces some of the best dentists in the midwest (it's almost perfect except for the clinics and one other thing...). The neighborhoods of suburban Columbus might get a little rough when MICHIGAN beats them soundly on the 18th of November. The ensuing riots of upset fans will be inconsolable. Just imagine the chaos of Rodney King's LA times 10. Just something to consider. See you guys next week.

Go there only if you would like to be eaten by Wolverines. Watch this coming saturday and decide if you still like to go there.

Those who don't want to come here after Saturday are those who have some sort of problem with being at a national championship school. 👍

Lloyd Carr had better find a way to contain all of our receivers and still shutdown the run. My only worry is Mike Hart...

Mike hart and steve breston will be the biggest difference maker in this game and will be the reason why Michigan will win this game by a field goal. And This is the real national title game and biggest game of the year. National title game this year will not be as important as this game. I can't wait untill saturday.

Haha, you guys think LLLLoyd is going to come into Columbus and beat a Tressel-coached team? They must be spiking the punch in the UAW unemployment line up there.

Breston, give me a break. He didn't even score a touchdown until last saturday, and that was against IU. And he had a LB covering him on his TD catch.

Tressel owns Carr. OSU owns Mich*gan.

Go Bucks!

Stupid little Michiganers. You really thought the Big Blow was going to come into Columbus and beat a #1 Tressel-coached team? Tressel owns Carr. He owns Michigan. He is the KING OF OHIO!

I was at the game and I'm still a little hyped up.

Yes you guys played great but Carr is still 6-6 against you and he has more big 10 titles than Tressel. Now most likely we will get a rematch and we will definitely beat you this time around. Over all great game, I couldn't ask for a better game to watch all year.

Are you serious??? Yes Carr is 6-6 against us but 1-5 against Tressel. Cooper doesn't coach here anymore buddy. As for the Big 10 title thing, Tressel has been coach for 6 years. Carr has been UM coach for. . . what is it? 13 years? And we had to split the Big 10 title with Iowa in 2002 even though we were undefeated and they lost a non-conference game. So that's bunk.

Tressel owns Carr. He owns Michigan. Have fun in Pasadena.
