Got an e-mail today asking me to call to schedule an interview. Interviews begin on 10/23 😱
Yeah, I was surprised. Maybe Mark Mitchell is heading out to that ADA thing in Vegas and wanted to get the e-mails out before leaving![]()
Haven't got an interview yet, but PM me if you want any specific info on the city. Hopefully I'm not being rejected by my own school🙄Any other SDN'ers going to be there on 10/23 (next Monday 😱 )? 🙂

I'm not familiar with that one. What is the address?Do you happen to know anything about the Inn at Marquam Hill? OHSU recommended it as a place to stay. I live in Eugene, so I've been up in Portland a bunch, but have never checked out that place.
Yeah, I was trying the same thing b/c I know I've driven by there before. Not a whole lot up there though, so if you want to do anything at all, I would recommend staying downtown somewhere, or somewhere along the waterfront.3412 SW 13th Avenue
From Googling the address, it looks like it used to be called Hedlund's Bed and Breakfast? The only site I can find that mentions it is OHSU's, lol

Yeah, the rain was a little much today.. I grew up in New Mexico, and after 8+ years in Oregon I'm still not quite used to the rainy season 😛Yeah...ditto, something about this school makes me uneasy. They better give me an interview pretty soon or Mark and I are going to have a few words. Good luck at your interviews everyone. If UoP doesnt work out then OHSU will probably be my next choice.
I got that letter about a week ago or so. Nothing since then though. I didn't know there was a secondary, so maybe they don't require one for everyone? Who knows.I just got the "your application is part of a very selective pool" letter. Does everyone get that letter, or is that like a first cut?
And what is their secondary like?
The school really seems fairly solid. They pride themselves on their clinical preparation with pretty stringent requirements. They make you do all your lab work which I hear can be a real pain, but I've known tons of people in the same boat, and they did just fine. Didactic curriculum seems pretty standard. The school is probably one of the older main buildings on the OHSU campus, but is really not too outdated inside. Their sim labs have their own monitors and are pretty new and seem good. Also they just built a new lounge/study area, meeting room type area on the top floor for student since the library is up the hill...it seems like a nice area to hang out and cruise the SDN page between classes🙂 The physical school is on top of a hill about 5 minutes from downtown, which is not a bad location. Parking is horrible, and 1/2 year dentals cannot evening purchase a parking pass for themselves...must be carpool or none. Ok, that was long, and probably what you already new, but hope it helps.🙂I got the invite today. It was sent along with the secondary, which I was told to bring to the interview. What I don't like is that my interview is already next week and I know little about the school, if it is a good school and in what aspects, only what is on their website, which is very little.
Hey pine, fax the transcript to them and then have an official one sent. I'm sure it will speed up the process.I just got an email from them saying I haven't taken Chem II and they can't review my file until I do. I took it this summer and had a transcript sent to them...now it'll probably be a week and a half till they get the next one 🙁
Hi guys! The interview day today was very very relaxed. You have two 30 minute interviews -- they seemed to go by so fast! Mark Mitchell was there; he's great. 👍 When you have lunch with a current student, they try to arrange it with someone who went to the same undergrad as you (or if you're out of state, someone from the same state at least), which is nice. There were only 5 of us there, so there are plenty of opportunities to ask questions during the presentation at the beginning. When you first arrive, they have you do a writing sample (I guess they have a different question each day? Or is that UCSF? I can't remember 😛 ). Don't worry about that, you have lots of time (assuming you arrive on time) and it is easy. Plus there's only 2/3rds of a page available, so you don't have to think of a lot to put down 😛
Have fun everyone 🙂
