OHSU Letter

I currently received a letter from OHSU that said, "Following initial review of you application.. we are not prepared to take official action at this time. ...we will be in contact with you as soon as a determination has been made regarding your application."

Did anyone else receive this letter? And should this be considered the same as a rejection or should I be glad that I haven't been rejected yet and possibly still in the running?

I got a letter from them on Wednesday saying "you application has completed its initial assessment and has progressed to the next phase of review.. Your application is amongst a highly competitive pool, which we typically select from to participate in the interview process. You will be notified by mail should you be selected for interview.." etc. Then it lists a bunch of stats on their recently admitted class. Yours probably means they will do some more in-depth reviews of your application before they decide on interview/rejection/waitlist.

Hmmm...I got one saying they received my app, check out the website, review the requirements, send us a check, send in your LORs, etc. But I've already done all that. Did you guys get that letter? Maybe I should call them...

Yes, I got that letter about a week and a half ago. OHSU loves sending letters, lol. I keep thinking it's going to be an invite, but not yet

Yeah, it's "Received/Under review" with a lengthy description: "Your application is currently in the process of being reviewed. It will proceed through a multileveled review in which we consider such factors as your GPA, academic history, DAT scores, letters of evaluation/recommendation, investigation in the field of dentistry and all other factors presented in your application. You will be notified in writing and by email of any changes made to your application status."

OHSU is very wordy, eh? 😛
