Location aside, any thoughts on how these two programs compare?

i went to OHSU last year and thought the people there were very nice and the numbers were decent 150 ish cataracts with good numbers in the other surgeries. They had a simulator and nice facilities. Columbus seems decent for a young family (not sure of lifestyle for singles). The VA is very far away (70miles or something if I remember correctly). I didn't go to Iowa, but my impression is that Iowa is a top 5 or 10 program that all the superstars were going to so..sorry no specific info on it, but there you have it for what it's worth..

I meant Casey Eye Institute at Oregon Health and Sciences University, not Ohio State University.

Both are really good. Not talking about location, I might go with Iowa though because I heard that cataract volume might be down this year at OHSU because of changes at the VA.

Anybody else have any impressions about these Oregon vs Iowa?

Iowa's a top 5 program. Oregon is a top 20 program. In the long run both are fantastic programs, go where it fits you best.
