Hey guys, I'm really sorry if the title of the thread is a little misleading but I just wanted to get people to read this. I know this is an unusual thread mainly because I never see any one here post this but I am pretty much looking for a study buddy. Let me just say that I'm not a creep or anything! lol, I honestly just think we can better grasp the DAT if there are study partners. Let me explain:
I've taken the DAT recently and didn't go good as I wanted to. So yes, I already registered and I am re-taking it again, but I think my problem has been the WAY I study, not what I've covered and what I haven't covered. I have done TONS of material but my problem has been the way I approach the exam. Last time, I panicked. It was so frustrating, especially in reading. Just the timing gets to me. And I think that's what happens to many people. But that's what we need to work on. I'm not the smartest person in the world but I like to try. I want to own this exam the next time I take it.
I read somewhere that working with someone else who is taking the exam or just actually learning by teaching (courtesy of DAT Bootcamp) the topics can help alot. Unfortunately, I don't know ANYONE else who is taking this exam.
So this post is really for anyone on the same boat as me. I know everyone has different study strategies, and I respect that but this wouldn't be an everyday thing. (Perhaps 2 or 3 times a week, and other than that, of course, you will study on your own, and we'll help each other out of course, the timings can be discussed). So If you are willing to partner up to study and learn through teaching or timing each other, please contact me. I seriously think it can be of benefit and work out.
-I actually live on Long Island in NY so the location would be best in NYC (Manhattan) since it can be convenient. The NYC Public Library or wherever in the city. I just think its safer since we would be technically 2 strangers at first (even a small group of study buddies is fine) and there are a ton of people in NYC so it'll feel more secure or safer to be surrounded by more people for both parties.
-But anyways guys, that's all I have to say about. This is strictly studying and preparation for the DAT. So if you are interested, please send me a private message or reply back on this thread. Thanks guys. 👍
