I just had my 2nd DAT...
Didnt do as well as i expected... Dont think I will be ok for this cycle, so I m gonna try the 3rd time.
Anyone in the same boat?

Yep, this is my final chance. I take my DAT's tomm evening, and i'm scared out of my mind! I have to at least pull an 18 in every section... I'm using DAT destroyer, but the general chem part seems to be a bit too hard. I mean does anyone feel the same way or is it just me. I am pulling out a calc. for the log equations, and if it takes this long to get the answer to one question.. i'm not going to have enough time. Does anyone think that the general chem part in destroyer is harder than the actual DAT?

Come On! This is not ur final chance, so, just relax, you will be fine...

Yes!!!! Des Chem is way way harder than the real DAT. Dont waste ur time on the log question.
Check a blog under my ID about Log, it will help you some.

I REALLY know how you guys all feel.
I'm taking my DAT for the second time tomorrow at noon.

For genchem, destroyer is way harder than the real one. You'll have way less calculations to do. Trust me.

I take my DATs for the 3rd time, and for me its like the final time.. I got so fustrated with Destroyers Chem part that i skipped it and i am working on the quantitative reasoning. I take my DATs tomm. at noon also.... this is soooooooo stressful.. if i don't do well.. i don't know what i'm going to do with my life... i've always wanted to become a dentist.. just this test is holding me back... AHHHHH!!! I want to scream. I'm going to look at your previous post for the general chem part.

All i ask for is at least 18's across the board... not too hard to ask for right??

I read ur post about ur score. Dont give up... I ve known ppl that took the 7th time, but still didnt make to 17, but she is still trying.
Keep trying if you really want it!

Once she becomes DDS, 1 moth of her salary will pay off all that at once and still have enough money for her Porsh payment. 😀

Hate to sound like a jerk but I really don't think D schools will really appreciate her taking the DAT 7 times.

Also, dentists on average do not make that much money to go out and buy a porsh right away. They are not rolling in money.

That's what I thought when i heard it, I was like What's the Buck?! Even God is trying to give her a sign to convince her to quit.
But guess what, she got in, the committee said they admire her determination!!!! Btw, she is 29.
So, guys, dont give up. It just takes more time for some ppl. 🙂

u guys all knew it's easier to get in ur own state's schools, rite?

i dunno, personally i would not have accepted her. Its a standardized test and she will need to take at least 2 more for her Boards. And she couldnt get at least 18s across the board after 7 times? I know some people are just not good test takers but her Boards are going to have ALOT more information to cover thats much harder

yeah i agree with above. kudos to her for getting in, but 7 times is def a bit much, at least at all the schools besides Miss.
i'm retaking next summer. i took it summer 05 (20/20/20, got all waitlists cause my gpa was just average) which blows cause its now expired at least to most schools, and this retake i'll have to beat all my scores (they were all ~90% on the version i took, drats!). anyone else in similar situation?

I'm taking the dat for my third time Dec. 3rd. I am so nervous, I did worse my second time...this time around I am studying with destroyer. ughh...good luck everyone. I'm glad that I am not the only one going through this!!

You have to look man...it all depends on a lot of factors...I personaly will be taking it again next summer if i don't get in this cycle, and I am not going to give up...I want to be a dentist no matter what...well of course some schools are not going to like my application anyways...who cares...lol...👍
Keep your heads up and go full speed ahead...don't worry about thet stats that you see on this website...study hard and retake it...one last thing, hit your text books first...build a foundation and then go on with whatever supplimental you wnat to go by...
