Okay, so I am super stressed right now... I have my first interview for this year (I have interviewed at two other places in the previous two years). I am getting nervous because I have been at this thing for so darn long... Anyway, my interview is at AZCOM on Friday, Feb 9th... anyone else going to be there? Also, does anyone have any information on the percentage of people accepted from interviews? Everything I have read always says that "Midwestern declined to respond".

Hey whats up, I'll be there too. Don't be nervous! Pretty much the best way to prepare for any interview is to read A LOT of the interview feedback on this website for AZCOM. Go to their website and read everything they have there just so you have a feel about what the schools goals and mission, etc are. Just relax in the interview, and I know it sounds corny but, be yourself.

So far I interviewed at 3 places, I was super nervous for my first one, and it showed in the interview and I was waitlisted, I was pretty calm for the other two and I got into both. My advice is this weekend, practice every possible answer to any question they can throw at you. Practice with a friend, or a parent, look for the most commonly asked questions on interview feedback and make sure you know how to make yourself look like they need you there right away.

Anyways, best of luck, you'll do fine 👍

I'm in the same boat. I have my first/so far only interview at AZCOM March 9. I'm terrified I'll be too nervous and mess it up. Since I may not have an interview invite elsewhere, I cannot afford to do poorly at this interview. I'm just going to read the interview feedback and make sure I can answer those generic questions that seem to come up with all kinds of interviews. There's not much else you can do. I also plan on talking myself up so that I can exude a lot of confidence. A lot of times, if you can convince yourself you will be accepted, are confident in yourself, and prepared to answer those difficult questions, that helps a lot with the nervousness.

Good luck at your interview!:luck:

Here is my situation: I took the mcat and got a 21 and then a 20. I have several learning disabilities and I was told not to take my accommodations because my score would be flagged. In the end, 2 years later, I retook it with my accommodations and I got a 27... but it is flagged...
I am honestly, jaded... the first two years the dean of admissions at two different schools thought I was going to get a spot. I got waitlisted (twice for the same school)... so I feel like even with my improved score... I am in for a battle here.
I have read up as much as I can on the school... I love AZ... that is not my problem... I am just at a point where I am feeling like something is inherently wrong with me because I do what these schools ask and jump through their hoops and yet I am still in the same spot... not in med school...
THIS TIME HAS TO BE DIFFERENT! I AM THINKING HAPPY THOUGHTS, DARN IT!

Good luck, guys! I loved AZCOM and will be going there in August. The interview was pretty run-of-the-mill, with a basic sciences professor, a clinician, and a fourth year med student. They were very friendly and pleasant; no "stress questions" for me. Just be enthusiastic, humble, and honest. Admit your weaknesses and then emphasize your strengths. Heck...tell them you're nervous, it might make you feel better. Certainly don't let it get the best of you! Let us know how it goes. :luck:

Good luck to everyone interviewing there! I don't know much about the school, but I am sure that if you just relax and be yourselves that everything will work out in the end.:luck: :luck: :luck: 🙂

thanks all for the support... but i still feel like im gonna be sick!

I interviewed at AZCOM in november and i prepared for it by reading the SDN feedback, going over my PS and resume. Just know that they won't have ur scores or GPA and would ask u Q's based on ur resume, PS and 2ndary essay. so know those really well. In addition, i was extremely nervous when i interviewed there as well, especially because mine was the last interview and just hearing about everybody who went before me talk about how nice their interview was i was just made me a little nervous. But nonetheless, i went in there and answered all the questions they asked me with utmost honesty. A lot of the questions were generic and i had pre prepared answers to them. But there were some which i hadn't thought of before and despite my nervousness i answered those with truth and confidence. I told them what i believed in. Also know that they do ask a buncha ethical questions.
And not to scare you but 1 of my interviewers was not really nice or comforting. He seemed to be looking over stuff when i was answeing his questions or would just cut me in the middle of my answer and this made me even more scared. The other 2 interviewers however, were really nice and tried to make up for his rudeness.
So when i walked out of the interview i wasn't sure if i would get in or not. But to my surprise i was accepted and did send them my 1st deposit as well. I guess i had gotten in because i had told them what i truly believed in and was confident about what i was saying.
However i just got accepted to CCOm a couple of days ago and have decided to pick that over AZCOM . So i might be freeing up a seat that could get u in.
Hope this helps and don't be nervous, just believe in yourself and good luck.

actually, that really does help... thanks!
