So my friend who also applied to OKSU got her letter in the mail today. It said that she had been put on the wait list. Because I had my letter sent to my mother's house in another state (my school is notorious for losing mail here) I have to wait a few more days. I am so nervous! I realize being waitl isted is not the same as being rejected, but I am really scared. She and I have about the same GPA and have taken most of the same classes. I don't even know why I am writing this lol, I think I just need something to take my mind off of things. Who would have thought that thinking about getting a letter in the mail could make someone break into a cold sweat?
 
Take a look at the WI thread -- this was literally me. I actually didn't sleep friday night, because I knew that it would be here the next day, and I was too anxious/wound-up. I mean, it all turned out well, but I feel like we are all in the same boat. Maybe try exercising? It helped me work off a little of the excess energy .... 😀
 
Oh man, I felt your pain!! I totally understand : )

I'm on the west side of WA state, so everyone in the middle and east side got their letters a day ahead of me.

I knew mine would be coming the next day! It's a weird feeling, isn't it! I took some Pepto to calm my tummy and took a nice hot shower (helped me get to sleep).

Don't worry, everything will be just fine 🙂

Thx guys/gals!! I really do appreciate all of your well-wishing! As soon as I know, I'll post. With them mailing Mon & mail time- I expect to get the letter (good or bad) on Friday. Last year they mailed Tues. and I got it Sat.
 
Yeah, people on campus for their letters yesterday and those of us that live off-campus (but in Stilly) got ours today! I hope it comes before Friday for you! Can't wait to meet you all!
 
Are there any DE contract residents that applied to UGA and OKSU? I wish I could have but OKSU has one prereq that I didnt have. Maybe next year?
 
Does anyone know how many OOSers they accept? I didn't see that information on the website.

Not unless I get some magical donation or win the lotto. I cant get enough financial aid. Right now Im about $5000 short per semester. It cost 20k per semester there (60K per year). Im jumping through hoops trying to find a way, but at this point its looking fairly grim.
Unfortuately trying to pay for vetschool is turning out to be just as difficult as getting in. After 6 years of rejections, I have to say its about the worst feeling to be accepted and have to decline bc of money. 🙁 I posted this is another thread but my new reccomendation is... if you are thinking of applying to a carib school, make sure you can get financial aid first (private loans) before you apply so you dont get your hopes up. Good luck to all!
 
Pudge, did your letter arrive as a certified letter?? I would guess so...but am anxious as heck and asking gives me something to do 😳
 
Still no mail. This is getting to be obsessive! Now I am having horrible thoughts about the mail man dropping the letter somewhere and then I never find out. Is this normal? I could kick myself for having it sent all the way to TN!

No fear Biomajir. This actually happened to my chem professor when he applied to graduate school. While it would suck not finding out sooner, they dont recind your offer due to lost mail. Good luck.

Oh no! :scared: That sucks so bad! What Carib school did you apply to? (this has been something I've been thinking about doing as well)
 
St. Matthews on Grand Cayman. But Ross is the same way. I think the only carib school that has a Federal Education Number is St. Georges. But Im not sure about that. Someone correct me if Im wrong, I probably am.
 
Got my letter. I was an alternate last year, rejected this year. At least the waiting for them is over. 🙁

Sorry to hear that Philo. I just got my letter today and was placed on the alternate list, so its not over yet. Hopefully I will still get in.

Aww, that sucks Philo, I swear Okstate doesn't know what they are doing half the time. The fact they let me in shows their idiots and not accepting you just proves it all the more. 😛 But here's to UF! When you get in there, you won't even care about stinky Okstate.

Bio, congrats on the waitlist. It's no fun having to extend the wait. I didn't find out until mid-June that I was in and some people didn't know until the week before classes start. Like I said, not the smartest admissions but hey it's vet school and in-state is a plus too. :luck: Good luck for getting moved up on the wait list quickly!
 
I got IN OOS! This finishes up the wait for all of my schools...However, I'll be sending in my letter declining their offer soon because I just got into my IS school too.
 
Now I'm pretty sure they used the "throw the apps down the stairs and the ones that land face up are accepted" method. I got in OOS and am very thankful for the offer, but will be declining so I can go to my state school. Hopefully that will help someone here out! The wait list will be moving, have faith! 🙂

I'm not sure how long you've been reading the boards Joe, but I know that Philo has been working her butt off for a long time to get into vet school. She's awesome!

Why did they pick me and not her? I have no idea. I know she has better scores than me, and likely lots more experience. She's an equally deserving, likely more deserving, candidate than I am.

Eveyone that applies has something going for them, so how they finally make a choice must have at least a little to do with luck! : )
 
Awwwhhhh lalani, you're swell !! 😍 Let me know where I can mail you your check! :laugh: The rejection letter stated that my raw stats fell below those being offered an position and as an alternate.... this whole thing confuses me sometimes, b/c I was always told I was competitive there. Alas, maybe it was meant to be.

I can't thank you all for being so supportive and offering to raid the campus in my honor. I appreciate that!! :laugh: We are a good bunch.
