Hi all,

I'm currently taking animal science and animal nutrition through OK State, and yesterday I sent in transcript requests. I received an email back saying that I don't have a transcript yet, as I haven't completed the courses (just enrolled in June). What am I supposed to send to vet schools? An enrollment certification? Just really confused and stressing out about everything I have left to do...

Thanks for any help you can provide! This forum has answered so many questions time and time again. 🙂

I would get an enrollment verification from the registrar's office. A safe bet would be to call the schools you are applying to and see what they want you to send in instead.

I was under the impression that you could list courses as "in progress" on VMCAS, but the transcripts for those courses would not be needed to be submitted until you've completed them. I'm not entirely sure, so unless someone has some additional thoughts, I'd probably recommend contacting the schools.

Unless things have changed, you can definitely list courses as "in progress" like Deli said and that should be sufficient enough for the time being. Then you have the transcripts sent once you have completed the course. If you haven't finished, the school has nothing to show the school. And if you don't end up taking the course, it's just your loss and your application might get tossed.

I did that for my animal nutrition course I took this past fall. I just put it as in progress and was told to submit the transcript upon completion of the course. If it's a fall course, the schools know you don't have those grades yet and expect you to have them sent to them in like January or February.

I did my animal nutrition at OKSU as well and I listed the course as "in progress" and didn't do anything else until the course was over and I had a grade. Then I sent my transcript. 👍

Thanks for all the help! I contacted the schools I'm applying to, and they all said it was fine. I just need to list the courses as in-progress on VMCAS and send the transcripts when I complete them. 🙂 Lynnette at Florida also told me to mark it on one of those supplemental documents we have to send in.

I guess I just thought it was weird that I didn't have a transcript yet even though I'm enrolled because at my primary undergrad, our in-progress courses were still listed on the transcript (without a grade, obviously).

Without a grade it's not really a transcript, just an enrollment form.
