So the premed center at my school has these old AAMC exams from the 90s... Are these good practice materials? They are much longer 85 minutes for VR, 100 minutes for PS and BS. I feel like they should be fairly accurate.

They're probably from the AAMC R series (ie AAMC FL 3R). If they're actually AAMC FL #1 and 2, ditch them. They are old enough that even the AAMC stopped selling them. Now if your school has AAMC 3-6 in paper format, take them. Then, take 7-10 computerized. You definitely need to get used to the CBT format. Do not understand this change.

Thanks SN2ed. I'll start with 3 then. my school's got 10 of them all in paper format. Are all these tests different from the ones in the AAMC website?

You need to check the numbers on them. Those tests might be too old. I know at least two of those tests aren't useful anymore due to their age.

AAMC 1 was never actually administered. It's from 1990
AAMC 2 was adminstered in April 1991

These are very old, and likely no longer reflect the MCAT, but if they are free you might as well use them as problem sets.

Paper Exams 3-6 in the very old VR 85 min 65 question, PS 100 min 77 question, and BS 100 min 77 question format are from the mid 90s, and while they have pretty much the same passages as the current CBTs, they also have passages on material that is no longer tested. Again, use them as extra passages, but only if you have no plans to take AAMC CBTs 3-6. If you plan to use the CBT versions, then those paper versions will ruin the CBT accuracy. Take the paper version after the CBT version.
