I took a full-length DAT yesterday that my friend had...one put out by the ADA a few years ago. A little stumped by this question. Need some help.
"The electronic configuration of a particular neutral atom is 1s^2 2s^2 2p^6 3s^2 3p^2. What is the number of unpaired electrons in this atom?"
A. 1
B. 2
C. 3
D. 4
5. 0
I put B-2, but the answer key has C-3. Do you think this is a misprint or is 3 the correct answer?
