So i was going through my old messages and came across some messages i exchanged with an obnoxious dick. To recap, i had asked a question in a nursing forum and after a few private messages, here was his response:

In case you haven't realized it already, I have a problem with nurses, pharmacists, PT's, referring to themselves as "Doctor" in a medical setting. Your ego is not my problem.

Your answer was provided by another poster. You're not going to see dollar amounts posted, if anyone even knows them, except possibly from government sources. It's illegal for physicians and a host of other medical providers to discuss fees with each other - it's assumed to be price fixing.

Even after 1 year of these exchanges, i kinda want to reach in my computer and slap him around a bit lol...What a douche...turns out he is an Anesthesiologist Assistant. well end of rant.

Some of it makes sense. Calling yourself doctor in a medical setting is stupid and really is for people with ego problems. It confuses people..

Now outside of a medical setting, feel free to call yourself doctor whatever. It won't confuse anyone and you earned it. But then again, I have seen this topic beaten to death on the pharmacy forums.

Most of my clinical professors were PharmD's. They were all called Doctor. The physicians called them Doctor when they rounded together. That's their degree. Don't worry about what other people think. The only thing you can control is your response. NEVER, I repeat NEVER try to apply logic to an illogical person.
