Hey guys. Question: i am taking the usmle step one from romania, europe. I want to take it in 2 years but i would really like to study for it now because my school's curriculum is different from the exam and i don't have a lot of spare time. So again, my question is, if i start studying now off the editions that are out already, and in these 2 years a newer edition appears, is it really worth the wait? Do they really add so much from edition to edition? I can't afford more than one set of books so it's very important....

Thank you!

depends on which books u are referring to. In my opinion, the content does not change much. I am guessing books like Rapid Review Path, and BRS dont change their content too much with the new editions. So, if I were you I would not worry too much. Also, if you are planning on using Kaplan Books/Videos (good source for early-on prep) they also dont change (a lot) and I know this from experience because I started med-school in 2010 and bought all my books then, and this year I will be writing my step1 very soon.... and I havent seen many changes in the new edition of Kaplan books. If you can only afford one sets of books, I think you will be fine, its more important to begin your prep early and have a solid base, rather than waiting till the end just so you can add few things (that may not be high yield) from the new editions of the book.
