Hi Im studying for CK. I got some books from upperclassmen and was wondering if I could use the 5th edition of first aid for CK for my prep. My other resources are MTB 2 and SUTS 2. Do I still have to get the newer edition of First aid or will the older edition suffice??😕

i dont know about CK. people dont like FA very much for that exam.

My experience is with step 1 however. the newer FA was significantly better than the older ones. not a major difference but better organization, updated high yield on latest tips from more recent examinations. If money isnt an issue, just get it. i mean the exam costs 20 times the friggin book. I like new books.. feels more fresh while studying... but that's just me

it seems that many prefer Step up to Step 2 over First Aid CK is because of the ease of the reading

Moreover, First Aid CK is not structured anything like the one for Step 1, which was just factoids for you to remember

Nonetheless, all of the residency and fellowship boards for First Aid will be structured much the same way as CK is, so just a foreshadow of what to expect in the years tocome

unless they have Step Up to (insert) Residency Boards
