If someone's GPA, letters of recommendations, CBSE score (over 65) and class rank were about the same, it would come down to the interview, personality, and whether the residents/faculty think they can get along with you WAAAAY before it would come down to name of school. The only way that choice of school plays a role is that some schools (Columbia, Harvard, UConn, etc.) prepare you better for taking the CBSE. OMFS programs don't care about what the name of your school is unless they've recently had a bad experience with a resident coming from there in the last few years.

Doesn't matter at my program, CBSE, GPA are what we use to filter through all the apps. Then letter of recs can help or really break you. It's surprising how many people get letters from people that don't think highly of them. Those kill you, and if you are interviewed, questions will be geared towards those deficiencies. School does help you if we happen to have a current Resident or recent graduate that did well and vice versa if they were terrible.

Thanks a lot guys, I really Appreciate your opinions and your time.

Anyone else???

My impression is that you are better off attending a school that doesn't rank students. YMMV. And yes, CBSE is the great equalizer. Use First Aid, UWorld, and Pathoma as your primary preparation materials for that (and for the USMLE if you attend a six-year program).
