On Hold?!

Well two and a half weeks after AADSAS mail-out and I've gotten my first response from a dental school. 🙄

Case has put my application on "hold" pending my Fall 2011 grades.
This seems very bad. Any word on people bouncing back from this?

I realize I still have a chance at other schools. I'm just talking about Case.

Also, If anyone else got a similar e-mail, I guess you could vent 🙂

I got the same email from indiana. If you haven't gotten an acceptance by Dec. 1 then send your transcript at the end of the semester. I like to think of it as a back-up school. No need to waste the money on flying out to an interview.

Case put my file on hold pending fall grades as well. I'm guess it's because I'm missing pre req's. Any idea why they would put your file on hold? by the time AADSAS finishing my GPA calculation it would be January, if there's an interview, it probably wouldn't happen til March or something. Case fills class uber quick, there's no shot of getting in dawg, we screwed.

Where did you see this on "hold" for Case? Is it through AADSAS or did they email you? Thanks.

Hi just curious, on your application...did you put classes you "planned" on taking in Fall 2011? I'm wondering if that could be why some school put applications on hold? I am a first time applicant and would also like to know the answer to this.

Actually, I didn't. I hope that's not what did me in. Not much I can do about it now though is there? I have my classes now, but AADSAS won't let me add them until the academic update. 🙁

They sent me an e-mail.

"The Committee on Admissions has reviewed your application, and it is their collective decision that your application be placed in "Hold" until we receive your official transcripts reflecting your grades for the Fall 2011 semester/quarter. This means that the Committee will give further consideration to your application after we have reviewed these grades. Please email us at [email protected] when you have completed your “Academic Update” on AADSAS."

Is academic update considered complete, when you send in official fall grades, AADSAS certifies your GPA and mailed out? I want to send my transcript directly to case to save time, I've had bad experience w/ AADSAS.

call the school and ask if you can do that. if so then you definitely should.
