Hello,

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to give me some guidance on whether these grades are suitable enough for a successful Dental School acceptance? First, some background. I have transferred a couple times. I am a non-Science major on the Pre-Dental track. Science is not easy for me, but I have always wanted to be a Dentist.

Here it goes:

Freshman year:
Bio 1: C
Bio 1 Lab: A+

Bio 2: C
Bio 2 Lab: A

Sophomore year:
Chem 1: B
Chem 1 Lab: B

Microbiology: B+

Anatomy: A-

Genetics: B

I also do not know how to calculate my sGPA with all of the transferring.

Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated!

Thank you!

The Cs in biology are alarming. My recommendation for you is to try to get As in Gen Chem 2, organic chemistry I and II, both physics courses, and biochemistry.

I had 2 C's in bio 1 and 2 (i didn't try freshman year). B in genetics and organic 2. Rest A's in upper level bio and other prereqs. Upward trend matters a lot as this shows dental school you have improved and capable of dental school. I managed to score a 22 on my bio section for the DAT, so hopefully that'll show adcom that I can handle Biology

You need pretty much straight A's in your science courses from here on out to be competitive. You probably also need to do well on the bio section on the DAT (21+) to quell concerns about your C's in bio. Good luck.
