Don't worry. I was placed on the Alternate List at MCPHS-Worcester as well. I don't really know much about it (how many people are on it, if it's ranked, etc) so if you find anything out let me know. I'm sure some seats will open up! Don't panic yet...:luck:

I know how you feel, very scared and worried right now...Last year, one friend of mine was on wait list for Midwestern U (Chicago)...We all were so surprised b/c she got 83 % Pcat, her GPA is ok, and she turned in her application early too.... THen around Agust, before 1 week class started, Midwestern U called her...Now, she's going there!!!! So at least, you still have hope, keep up that hope, ....

I went for Midwester U (chicago ) on Jan 9 and haven't heard a thing from them... SOme people in this website had been accepted already which makes me feel sooooo nervous :scared: and I'll feel that way until i heard from them.....About Midwestern (AZ), I was put on "hold for interview" too, but 2 days later, they sent me an email, invitation for interview... I had the interview on Jan 11, they will let me know within 1 month..The campus is beautiful!!! 🙂 good luck and keep yr hope and waiting..I don't think you have to call them, they will let you know...For Midwestern (chicago), i remember the Dean mentioned that you can turn in additional infor to improve your application, so you can call to ask about this forms....
(sorry for long reply 😀 )

Thankyou futurepharm.d.?... Appreciate your long reply... feeling a lil better now... Thank you!
Good luck to you too and hope you hear positive from Midwestern... (Chicago and Arizona)...

You will be alright if you have a good GPA; they should choose you over others candidate. :scared:

This is the information I've been PMing those of you who have asked. Since I get at least 1 or 2 PMs/day asking about the MCPHS interview I thought I would just post my info for all to read. Hope it helps. If you have any other specific questions feel free to ask.

I had my interview on Friday (11/18) at MCPHS-Worcester. Despite being my first interview, I thought it went pretty smoothly. I arrived at 8:30am and was instructed to go upstairs and meet Kate (the admissions secretary). I had 30 minutes to complete a writing sample. Don't even stress about this part- there were 5 or so topics to choose from and you got to pick one. All were VERY basic questions (EX: Describe your favorite place to visit and tell us why its your favorite, Discuss any activities that are especially important to you, etc.) After I finished I waited for my interviewer to come get me. When we got to his office he told me to relax and that he didn't want this interview to be stressful to me at all (maybe he could tell I was nervous because it was my 1st interview?) My interview lasted approximately 45 minutes. He asked me VERY simple questions: How was my undergraduate experience in NY? Explain why I got a few "lower" grades my freshman and sophomore years. Where do I see my pharmacy career going? Why do I want to be a pharmacist? Why MCPHS-Worcester? How do I balance extracurricular activities and school work? Really nothing difficult. Afterwards, he gave me a tour of the pharmacy building and the attached residence building that was just built. I was very impressed with both buildings. The school is new so the facilities are very clean and modern. After reading the interview feedback on SDN I was anticipating this school to be in the ghetto... it really is NOT.

NOTE* There are 11 different people who conduct the interviews so you could get any one of them. The guy I had was nice, but spoke very softly and didn't show much emotion so I found it difficult to be excited to be there. My advice to anyone is to be energetic and talk a lot, regardless of what kind of mood your interviewer is in. Looking back, he definitely intimidated me a little.

Things I didn't like:

1. A few students told me that there is basically nothing to do in Worcester, but Boston is only 45 minutes away.

2. The school seems to be very strict. There is a dress code that is enforced by the faculty (no jeans, flip-flops, shorts, etc.) There is also a "white coat policy," meaning that students are required to wear their lab coats at all times during class and lab.

3. Because it is a very small school, it seems as though most of the administrators know the students. Normally I would like this and think this is a good thing, but I was a little turned off by this incident- My interviewer took me into a classroom where P1 students were having a class. As we were leaving, a few students were walking in late and my interviewer sort of called them out on it and began asking them why they were late. I felt like I was in a boarding school or something. It just seemed odd to me. The last thing I want to feel in pharmacy school is that I'm being watched and/or babysat.

Good luck and let me know how your interviews go!🙂

if they sent out the letter just before the last day of school, it is possible to get a letter on christmas eve; the delay would be due to the bulk amount of holiday mails, i guess.
