Hi guys,

everything's complete except one of my LOR's.

When does amcas send the letters to the designated schools? Is it after they ask for a secondary or does they go with the primary applications?

thanks.

Well I was waiting FOREVER on my last LOR when I decided to contact the letter writer. It was a sciennce professor so he was uploading it directly to them. He said he had already done it, but it didn't take; not only that, but he doesn't receive notice that it didnt take? Had I not asked him about it he wouldn't have known. We got it worked out pretty quickly.

Also, i got the email notification of receipt of my LOR this morning at about 9 a.m. I then called my medical schools admission office the same day about noon and they told me that yes they had received all of my LOR's, including the one that was received by AMCAS today. Hope this helps!

my understanding is that AMCAS makes the letters you designate to each school available to that school, and they then download it when they feel like--though generally quickly.

I have waited so freaking long for my committee letter that as soon as I get notification that it's on AMCAS, I am calling each of my schools to 'check if i'm complete' aka get them to look for my letter. Overkill maybe, but I'm extremely impatient and frustrated with my committee right now.

AMCAS makes it available for the schools to download. The schools generally don't download your letters until you have completed their secondary application. So it's okay to not have all your letters in when you submit your primaries, but make sure they're all in when you submit your secondaries to prevent delay.
