So I'm not entirely sure whether or not I would be considered a nontraditional applicant since it's only been a year since I finished college, but I decided to go into medicine late into my last year and decided to wait a year before applying and all that. I'm pretty good on everything as far as numbers go, but one school I am applying to requires that I've taken a biochemistry course, which I never did.

All I want to know is what is the best way to show on my primary app that I am planning on taking that at the state school here this coming fall? I did too well on my MCAT to be discounted from the beginning just because I haven't taken one class. I know that you can enter current of future classes on the AMCAS, but I haven't taken any classes before at this school. Do I just go ahead and list it as one of my schools with only a future class and no transcript?

I hope this makes sense, and any help is appreciated😳

im not sure exactly how you do it on the application, but i know that you can add a note that you or taking it, or something to that extent. Not exactly sure, but i know there is a way!

The answer may be on their website... click "support" in your application and poke around. Alternatively you can give them a call

There is no need to list future classes - it is offered on AMCAS as a convenience to you, but I would not bother.

For any missing pre reqs, the school in question will remind you that you need to take it prior to matriculation. Remember that plenty of people apply after their junior year with 30+ credits left to take, and some of those may be pre reqs...

I am in the same boat on Biochem...haven't taken it yet, have no firm plan to take it, but will do so next year...I didn't list it on AMCAS...
