what are a list of programs that allow you to do all the pre-reqs in a year (school yr + summer)? What are the costs? How competitive and respected are the programs etc?

Rather than asking us to write a dissertation for you, please do some research. Almost every formal postbac imaginable, from immortally lauded to awfully sketchy, has been examined in detail here.

Outside of SDN, try http://hpap.syr.edu/pblist.htm -- it has a comprehensive list with details about tons of programs, suited to differing needs.

To give you a head start, the most famous one-year programs are Bryn Mawr, Goucher and Scripps. They're expensive -- comparable to cheaper private school tuition -- as well as extremely difficult to get into. All are generally well-respected.

Agreed. I can't put it better than Newman. I just wanted to add another possible sight you might want to gather information from.

http://services.aamc.org/postbac/ - you can search different degree types. You might want to try all non-degree undergrad programs (graduate possibly as well but I think those expect that you already have pre-reqs)

calm down there killa. no need for the 'tude. just saying it would be easier to compare if they were all in one thread.

plus everyone knows about bryn mawr, goucher, and scripps, im trying to uncover less talked about ones.

maybe u should look through the forum and compile all the info. then it would all be in one thread.

Check out my signature. The Philadelphia programs almost all have a one year option (seven out of nine, I think).

Well said.

And OP, if you already know about those programs, be more specific in your question. We're here to help each other out, but we're not your employees. And Juliet and myself will both be quick to tell you it wouldn't hurt if you added a dash of politeness to your posts. Of course, a rude 'taker' on these forums is hardly rare, sadly...
