I have one preq left. Biochemistry. My school only offers it during in the morning and I work full time with a lot of travel. Last semester I enrolled in Michigan State and their online biochem course but had to drop due to my work.
Does anyone know if this class will be accepted?? MSU is 4 year college not CC and the class is upper division biochem. I don't forsee it being easier than actually attending the class in person. Any thoughts??

I don't think that's true. While it is probably preferable to take a biochemistry course (or any prerequisite for that matter) in the classroom, I'm taking an online biochem course through the university of new england which has been accepted by numerous dental schools. It's 4 credits and quite challenging. With a full time job, I didn't have much choice of biochem courses at night at a school somewhat close to me.

Here is the course website.

Really?? Online biochem? Talk about a cop out. Let's just take all the important classes online. Screw learning and books, google to the rescue!

All I know is that the class I'm taking online is accepted by numerous dental, medical, dietician, optometry, physician assistant, and anesthesia assistant programs. The professor for the course was once a medical school teacher. It's 4 credits, and your grade is based completely on 1 cumulative proctored exam that you take at the end of the course at the campus. Google will not rescue you in the course I'm taking.

That's not to say the class will be accepted by every school, but the fact that you're calling people in general, including me, a "cop out" for taking a hard class online and basically self teaching it while they have a full time job is kind of annoying. Please avoid using generalities, they usually just offend people.

But I digress. I would have preferred to take it in the classroom, but that wasn't possible in my situation. I searched around for the best online course I could find, and that's what I'm taking now. It's the only pre-requisite I didn't take in the classroom during my undergrad, and biochem isn't required by every single school yet. So even in the event that this class wasn't accepted by a school, there would still be other options.

the best thing to do is call up the school you are interested in and hear what they think about it. I am guessing they will say "it is ok but we prefer you to take in class". If you are already accepted then that maybe a totally different story.

If you are not accepted yet then it is probably highly recommended to take it in class. I never took any online courses because it can be just another "what if" thing if rejected.

Good luck!!
